Basically it was worth the investment. I learned additional helpful things I didn't know before.
What I disliked was, that a working template was used in this tutorial. A lot of macros where already set and sometimes I didn't know if it sounds cool because of any macro. It would be much clearer to understand when the tutorial would have been started from scratch with an empty arrangement.
I just finished this video on kick and bass and cannot believe how much my quality has improved.. Allan is an absolute saviour! For too long I've struggled with so many other tutorials out there, with loads and loads of time wasted with self experimentation.. and just couldn't get it to stand up to the tunes I love to play out in the club. This has given me confidence that my future tracks will be much better.
So much content, watched it 3 times already and still hear something new. Every time I take a step forward and something clicks, there is more wisdom to show me the way. SO many little tweaks and fun inspirational idea's and pointers to fatten up that key sound.
Bass to a newby like me was a bit of a minefield, frequencies, patterns and that overall trance sound. It's all here for the taking and more. Accompanied by the Ableton gainstaging template that Allan has on offer the minefield has cleared and the creative juices can flow.
The speed at which a novice can progress with these tutorials is pretty remarkable! So buzzing for the next lot and excited about what lays ahead.
If you haven't already.... Buy it!!
Well what can I say...after 22 years I decided to get back and have some fun writing tracks. I had no idea where to start...bought all the kit and set it up...looks good but how do I use it 🤔 Stumbled across allan by accident...bought this tutorial and it's brilliant 👏 great for learning my daw as well. I have bought other tutorials from the site now as well and looking forward to using them as well...it's a no brainer for anyone wanting to learn how a pro produces
As an Ableton user I really enjoyed this tutorial.
For a long time my kick and bass lines have sounded weak and not as punchy as the pro-level tracks you hear on Beatport.
I’ve heard the term ‘parallel compression’ before but never really understood how to use it effectively until I watched this video.
My sub basses now sound better than ever after this tutorial and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Next up will be the mix down tutorial then I’ll have all the tools I need to go out and make much higher quality music.
Keep up the great work with these tutorials mate!
