How It Was Produced – Allan Morrow – Going In

  • Are you feeling uninspired in the studio?
  • Have you heard tracks and wondered how they were produced?
  • Do you want to understand why a track was produced the way it was & the vision?
  • Want to hear the sounds before they were processed?
  • Track walkthroughs not in enough detail?
  • Want to see the processing on a finished track and understand the reasons why it was added?

Welcome to the “How It Was Produced” series!

Why did I create this series? Because I know how inspiring and informative it can be looking at someone else finished tracks. So many ideas can be taken from seeing a finished track!

So…. In this series, I am going to be showing you some of my tracks in a significant amount of depth. Looking over someone else’s track can be a tremendous insight into new ideas and can also spark a lot of inspiration, especially if you are not feeling motivated or have writer’s block.

It can literally take seeing one element, and something can click in your brain.

Think of it as a track walkthrough but in much, much more detail! You are going to see everything!

I’ll be going over each and every channel and showing you the effects and processing used on them.

I’ll be turning each and every bit of the processing on and off so you can see how it has changed the sound and why I used it.

I’ll be explaining to you my vision with the track, and any issues I might have had.

I’ll be explaining to you about the different layers and why they are part of the track, along with a deep insight into the arrangement and why certain elements come in when they do.

I’ll also be going over the automation used, and its purpose, as well as taking a look at the processing and the synth/vst settings.

No stone will be left unturned!

How it was produced

Another top tutorial seeing in depth how Allan works. I love the underground sounds and it was great to see how creative you can get with samples to fill out a track and keep it sounding unique. I look forward to seeing more of the same in this series of tutorials!!
