Studio Tip – Speed up/Slow Down Track Sections
Ever wanted to make a section of a track feel more driving or faster-paced than the section before?
Adding in a more driving bass line (or a faster-paced hat loop for example) can pick up the energy in that section of the track and really give a sense of the pace picking up!
You will see in the image above that I have added in a fast-paced hat loop and an extra mid bass to create more power in that section.
The flip side of this (slowing down a section) can also be achieved by removing such elements.
Have a try and see which of your elements in particular sections can be added or removed to give a sense of the track slowing down or speeding up.
