Really informative tutorial, loads of great pointers and guidance over the use of remix packs, and overcoming/fixing faulty remix packs that are occasionally received as we as correcting coded midi. Have started applying the techniques to a project I am working for a remix contest for Trance Portal and really happy with the progress. Thanks again Allan for taking the time to share a wealth of knowledge around a topic that is difficult to find online! Keep up the great work!!
I have a lot of kick samples, including Dave Parkinson's 1 and 2, which use to be my go to for kicks. However, I have to say I am very impressed with this pack and it will definitely be my go to for trance kicks from now on.. Honest to god this is the best kick pack I have purchased by miles. 30 exceptional kicks. Nice work Allan!
I look forward to the next quality sample pack.....
Some great tips on Percussion and so glad I've purchased it as it's made a huge difference already. Highly recommended
I'm currently studying Music production and sound engineering with an online college. The problem for me is I love Trance and we don't do genre specific Modules. AM Studios is bringing my productions to the next level!! If you love Trance. Stick With Allan!
Although it's not the most interesting tutorial to purchase from Allan, it's definitely a must have if you are a newbie with Sylenth 1 (like I am) and you definitely need to know how the sw works throughout all of different parameters. Super recommended!
Great, yes a great pack of trance kicks finally! Honestly I prefer these above the legendary Dave Parkinson kicks, as these are out of the box fitting fat more easily with subs. The tails are not to long, the kicks not too boomy while plenty of of lows combined with the higher end they sound very punchy and full. I was really surprised about the fat above quality vs other great kick packs. Together with the bass pack for sylenth1, my lows are much tighter, fuller and more clear, they keep clearly audible in busy mixes, just great!
More excellent tips in this video. I've bought all 8 of these Ableton build a track tutorials now. Definitely worth having them even for using in the future for that heads up you'll need when stuck in a rut.
Lately I noticed my main leads were not sounding as they should, too layered not enough high end. This tutorial has helps me gel my sound together more along with other tricks I have been implementing
I really liked this tutorial, so much useful information, I really appreciate the tips about writing pluck lines and so on. I just would like to suggest that the tutorials have subtitle for us that dont have english as native language. I miss some points in the tutorial because the language barrier. Even a tool like youtubes automatic translator would help a lot. But anyway, I learned so much from it. Keep up the great work!
I wanted to learn how to make psy trance and trance triplets, this is more trance than psy as the title suggests but the basics are there for both. I learned a lot, best thing about Allan's tutorials is seeing a pro work from scratch in a session, it's the creativity process, a kind of masterclass "reveal" that's worth the money. At the start I couldn't imagaine how the sound could end up close to his reference tracks as the sound was basic (what my projects sound like!) but bit by bit Allan adds all the bits and pieces and at the end the sound was so much like the reference tracks, clever! I learned to parallel process, clone the mid bass, and the biggest was the stereo width. Choice of kick - choosing the key note was good to see also. I don't use his DAW or Sylenth but I could still follow along easy. You can tell Allan's got years of experience as his ears are fine tuned which you can't teach you have to learn that yourself by doing it trial and error but Allan show's you how to get there. Great!
Love this tutorial. Allan brings his lessons down to earth and explains every part of his thought process in an enjoyable and informative way. Invaluable!
Cracking template to start any trance track, I have purchased most of Allan’s tutorials and as I am only starting his techniques are all I know so far......Learning more every day. Highly recommended
I learnd more from this video then hundreds of hours of YouTube videos. I learnd specialy automating my tracks and sounds better. I highly recomend Allans videos.
This is my first tutorial from AM and i’m glad i purchased it. I finally understood how to layer my leads properly without to much eq tweaking, Allan just shows how to do that professionally, it’s a really honest and straight forward tutorial.
I would like to take a moment to express how amazing this tutorial is. I’ve always struggled with building tension and release in my tracks. This tutorial has helped me gaining new ideas, what to look for in my mix and how to utilise elements of my track rather than searching for samples that don’t belong.
From what I have seen so far (I only have No 1 and No 7) this series on Trance track development is excellent. The template is useful. However, I found this first video to be fairly light on detail. It doesn’t explain the reasons why the tracks are grouped the way they are or why certain audio effects are chosen. So the template isn’t of much value in itself without the subsequent videos. I respectfully suggest that this template and video should have been free, as a teaser for the series. But I want to stress that overall your videos are great!
If you like me struggle to find ideas on what to use or sometimes can't find what works well and spend heaps of time before getting it right for intro plucks then this tutorial will surely help you a lot by giving you lots of great tips and things you can try with your plucks and what to look out for. As always, worth the money, even if you already have some knowledge.
I loved this tutorial a lot. It really helps you creating a lot more drama in your breakdown but also in the drop as it expands your possibilities by trying these tips and techniques. I recommend this one to everyone really, well worth the money.
