Having studied music production and sound design for the last three years I know how beneficial it is to have a structured course to learn from. To be able to follow someone producing a track from start to finish is a great insight into how to develop ideas from a both compositional and sound design angles. As an Ableton user it's great to see what plugins he uses and how he applies them. It's also good that he only uses minimum of third party plugins and sticks mainly to Sylenth1 for sound design, the LFO Tool and Voxengos free Span plugin (I hadn't realised how useful this is!). In addition to the course you also get a Template and a 'Channel Strip' with EQ etc made from Ableton plugins.
The pace of the videos is good and he doesn't edit any of the videos so you can follow his ideas and occassional creative faffing!
I would certainly recommend this course to anyone even if they're just wanting to get some new inspiration for getting out of a compositional rut and they don't even use Ableton or produce trance.
Downloaded loads of samples, presets, tutorials and midi packs, all of Allan’s are the best I have found for trance based production. I have been DJing for years and always wanted to produce my own tracks. Allan is making it possible. These midi packs are not only helping me creating tracks they are also helping me to understand how to make my own. Thank you Allan #Legend
Being relatively new and having gone through Youtube and watched as many tutorial video as I could find I would absolutely recommend this tutorial. Allan's style of teaching is like having him sitting right next to you explaining everything step by step and more importantly the reasons why things are done that way, which in my honest opinion is invaluable when learning. I can quite honestly say that this tutorial series is one of the best if not the best I've come across on my journey to learning how to create Trance music. I cant thank Allan enough for putting this out there.
WoW!! Allan does it again. This has to be the best comp tutorial I have seen. The way Allan demonstrates each compression type is in such a way that anyone can understand it. The examples are top notch, and the explanation as to how to shape a sound using the compressor is so clear. If you struggle with compression then this small investment will stand you in good stead for years to come.
This whole trance track from start to finish has been an absolute game changer for me. I have learnt so much over the last 12 months by following this series - it really has transformed my productions. This mixdown tutorial seriously is priceless - you can apply this method to any genre! I have always struggled with balancing the low end alongside the other areas of my tracks and this tutorial really has unlocked the key to that clarity. Thank you for sharing your knowledge Allan.
Great, yes a great pack of trance kicks finally! Honestly I prefer these above the legendary Dave Parkinson kicks, as these are out of the box fitting fat more easily with subs. The tails are not to long, the kicks not too boomy while plenty of of lows combined with the higher end they sound very punchy and full. I was really surprised about the fat above quality vs other great kick packs. Together with the bass pack for sylenth1, my lows are much tighter, fuller and more clear, they keep clearly audible in busy mixes, just great!
I learned so much from Allan's video about properly layering and all the techniques he used I didn't know. I was doing trial and error but he presents a methodical way to approach layering leads. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this for any producer
I am a huge trance fan since the late 90’s. A big dream of mine was to produce a trance track that was worthy of releasing on a record label. Last year during Lockdown I decided the time was right and to give it a good go. The first thing I did was invest in Allan’s Tutorial “Creating A Trance Track from Scratch”. This is such a good tutorial and has everything you need to know to produce a professional sounding Trance track from start to finish. He goes into great detail and explains it in a simple way. Unlike other tutorials on the net, Allan’s teaching style guides you through the trouble shooting process that comes hand in hand with producing electronic dance music. Since then I have expanded on my knowledge base and bought many of his other tutorials and sound banks.
Long story short, here I am, 6 months later and a couple of 1-1 private sessions with Allan, my dream has come true. One of my very first tracks got snatched up by a respected record label, and not only that, but one of my favorite DJ/Producer’s wanted to remix it! Its now flying up the Beatport charts. Simply blown away!
Huge Bucket List tick!
I cant recommend Allan's Tutorials enough!
Cheers Allan
I have purchased around eight of the tutorials and no other tutorials can touch them. Being an ableton user I have just purchased the ableton kick and bass tutorial along with the ableton template and they are awsome. You can use all the knowledge tips and tricks you learn from these tutorials in any daw. The time and effort allan has put into these tutorials is very much appreciated by myself. It has taken my music production up so many levels. Don't hesitate just purchase. You won't regret it!!!
I have been a producer on/off 10 years love allans tutorials, great for inspiration when you hitting a blank wall my go to videos to reset and learn.
Ive used ableton for 10 years and learned a new tip within the first ten minutes so has something for all levels. Will be following this track concept in bleton all the way. Fantastic work as always.
Mate only got about 40 mins in on the lead tutorial and already think I've been going about it all wrong for years, so much simpler working with a sub pad and obviously sticking to scales. I normally play bits on the keyboard till it sounds right but often get stuck as I progress through the riff. But this makes more sense 🙂 looking forward to getting home later to watch the rest before I check out the Acid vid
Cheers mate 😉
I purchased this tutorial on the basis that I would hopefully top up my knowledge of layering and depth by around 10% or so. Nope! Wrong again. I learnt at least 50% on top of what I already knew. I discovered tips and techniques I hadn't even considered. For anyone contemplating an AM tutorial, I sincerely recommend it. I have 12 now. Yes, 12. They have literally transformed my work.
I am usually kinda skeptic when shopping around for tutorials, but after the first couple of videos I've purchased, I knew these Mixdown videos were ones not to miss. Allan goes in depth and you can tell he put a great effort in explaining everything from mixdown tips to techniques. Without exaggerating, Allan Morrow tutorials are the mecca of trance tutorials, I definitely recommend.
Welcome to AM Studios! Thank you for visiting the website! So you want to learn how to make Trance music, but you are tired of browsing through endless Youtube tutorials and still not getting that professional sound that you are aiming for? You have come to the right place!
With tutorials, templates, soundbanks & MIDI covering everything from Trance Kick & Bass, Trance Percussion, Trance Acids, Trance Melody / Pads & Leads, Trance Plucks, Trance FX, Mixdown, and much, much more we have you covered!
Here at AM Studios, you will find some of the most in-depth production tutorials on how to make Trance that the net has to offer! In these tutorials, I show you exactly how I produce my Trance music without holding back any secrets.
I show you guys exactly how I produce music because I want to help people learn how to produce themselves without the need of an engineer. Music is about expressing emotion and shouldn’t be passed on to someone else to do so. These in-depth tutorials and 1-2-1 tuition will help you learn to craft and produce your own music.
These tutorials are different from some of the others you see online in a way that they are not pre-planned. Meaning all of the sounds are not pre-made and ready to fall straight into place.
I believe that pre-planned tutorials will not help you grow as a Trance producer as you will not learn from the issues that come up every day during the production process and how to overcome them. Therefore coming across a problem and knowing how to resolve it will help you keep your creative juices flowing and keep your production frustrations at bay. This is why I do these tutorials in such a way so that it feels as though you where sat in the studio next to me watching me make a track and explaining everything I do every step of the way.
Brett Mcpherson
After some 1-2-1 sessions and completing one of the Start To Finish – Trance Production Courses, Brett was able to get one of his first tracks signed to a favourite label of his, and hit number 1 in the Beatport Trance release charts!
Amazing work from Brett!
Polzn Bladz
Polzyn was using a tip from one of the tutorials with a multiband compressor, but had accidentally enabled heavy compression on a frequency band and couldn’t understand why he was having mix issues.
Once it was discovered what was holding him back in a 1-2-1 session, it was full steam ahead with a first release from this amazing talent!
James Pound
“AM Studios is more than just a website that sells tutorials for me“
James is making tremendous strides in the studio after such a short period of time, and is really eager to learn as much as he can!
I see some big things happening for James!
Mark Mulvaney
2 x Tracks signed to arguably one of the biggest labels in the scene after the help of AM Studios and his hard work!
Bright future for Mark!
