Requirements if you want to use this template

This template was created in Ableton Live 12.1 Suite, but it only uses devices available in Standard, so it should work fine in that edition too.

However, due to Ableton’s lack of backward compatibility, it won’t open in earlier versions of Live (e.g., 11 or anything below 12.1).

If you’re using an older version, you won’t be able to open the project file directly — but you can still recreate the setup manually by watching the video. – Again this is not required to follow along with the course.

For any of you that have the old quick start template this is basically the same but with the new quick mix rack added.

Third start to finish and lots more to learn

This is my third (I think, possibly 4th) start to finish and every time there is more and more I learn. This one has a flow that really suits me with shorter videos, very easy to follow and hopefully will result in a much more professional sounding track. The final track in this one is excellent!

A breath of fresh air

With over two decades of experience in music production, I find it a deeply rewarding hobby. After exploring numerous tutorials from various artists on YouTube, I discovered Allan Morrow’s How To Make Uplifting Trance - Start To Finish Course (10+ Hours). This course was a refreshing change. Following each video from beginning to end while simultaneously working in the same DAW was incredibly valuable, feeling as though Allan was right there in my studio. It was both inspiring and reassuring to see him adjust his creative process, sometimes changing his mind or taking a sound or idea in an entirely new direction. This is a common occurrence in my own work, so seeing it in a professional context was particularly helpful. I highly recommend this course, and the included Ableton Live 12 project file and production rack are excellent bonuses that significantly speed up the workflow.
