Understanding Leads & Pads

This tutorial help with an issue I was having with my leads and pads conflicting and fighting for the same frequencies. After viewing this, I picked up some of Allans techniques that helped get my leads and pads to play nicely together and sit in the track giving them a wide and loud appearance without sounding muddy and without peaking the track volume. The tutorial also shows how to add effects for impact and shows how to use automation to bring in those big leads during the breakdown. Another solid tutorial.

Clarifying one of the hardest parts!

Having never done music before, learning melodies and general music theory were something I've had to learn from scratch. I have read up on some general theory, but this trance specific tutorial has inadvertently clarified many questions I had regarding what the rules are and how much freedom you have working within the bounds of music. Allan also provides in-depth reasoning for what he's showing you and great techniques and resources for getting started in making a trance melody.

Melody, Pads & Breakdown

I only got back into music production a couple of months back and after finding the majority of the content available on YouTube etc to be very basic (even for a beginner) I decided to give Allans' a go. This tutorial, not unlike the Kick & Bass and Percussion videos which are also fantastic, was really informative and delivered in a way which is easy to understand. The video is around 2 hours, but I'd say it took me roughly 10 hours to go through it; stopping and starting to get a better grasp of the ideas and techniques Allan provides. Definitely recommend these for beginners, or anyone else who is struggling to get a professional sound in their productions. Allan's tutorial's have been a fantastic resource.

Trance melody/breakdown

Another awesome tutorial video here from Allan, picked up a few new tricks instantly that helped thicken up my leads, especially during breakdowns, would definitely recommend these tutorials no matter what level of production you are at!!
