Want to learn how to program your own Trance Bass sounds?
Tired of not knowing how to tweak your presets to get your desired sound?
Want to see how different layers of Trance Basses are created?
Want to see how to split the frequencies within a Trance Bass sound for a more dynamic bass?
Frustrated with not knowing what ADSR shape to use on each of your basses?
Welcome to the first Sylenth1 Sound Design Tutorial.
In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to create your own trance bass sounds from scratch. I’ll be going over in a great amount of detail the different types of Trance basses such as Mid Basses, Sub Basses, Distorted Basses, Top Basses & More.
If you have ever felt like you want to stop using presets because you want full control of the outcome, then this tutorial will equip you with the tools to produce some solid bass lines for your tracks.
I’ll be taking you through the step by step methods that I use to create Trance Bass sounds. Explaining to you in-depth what each parameter such as the ADSR, Filters, Oscillators, Mod Envelopes, LFO’s, MISC & Effects are doing, so that you understand how the sound is being built, but more importantly why I’m doing what I am doing.
⬤ How to create Trance Mid Basses, Trance Subs, Psy Trance Style Basses, Trance Top Basses & Distorted Trance Basses.
⬤ Frequency splitting with different filters across Oscilattors for more depth & dynamic basses. (Something I have not seen done anywhere else before)
⬤ A deep understanding of why each parameter is changed.
⬤ Shaping your basses to suit the type of bass you are trying to achieve.
⬤ What effects to use to create a desired sound.
⬤ How to use mod envelopes for a cleaner punchy bass.
⬤ Mixing your Oscillators to get a more balanced Trance bass.
⬤ Applying resonance to achieve different sounds.
⬤ Using LFOs & Misc to create more movement.
⬤ Choosing the right Waveform for a particular style bass.
⬤ Positioning the bass layers in the stereo field.
⬤ Understanding which Oscillators to retrig and why.
⬤ How to create more width and punch within your Oscillators.
⬤ How to add more punch to your sub basses.
+ much more!
Please note this is not a tutorial on how to use Sylenth1; this is a tutorial on designing different sounds within Sylenth1. If you want a full understanding of how Sylenth1 works as a synth, be sure to check out the Sylenth1 tutorials HERE.

I don't know anything about sound design. But after watching this video, I think I understand the basics. It's helpful for people who don't know how to get started with sound design.
Such Nice and Easy to understand ! Ty
Been playing about with Sylenth for ages, just tweaking other peoples sound banks to get the desired sound. Decided I wanted to make my own sound bank, starting with bass design. Like all of Allan's courses this again is an excellent tutorial. You do need to have used Sylenth 1 to get the full benefit, but there is also a course explaining the features and how sylenth works before you purchase the sound design tutorials. Hope there is going to be a Pluck sound design course for Sylenth 1 in the future. Cheers dude
Sound design was one of the subjects I hoped Allan would cover, so when I got round to buying the bass sound design tutorial I wasn’t disappointed
As always Allan goes into great detail covering various different types of bass and how to achieve the sound you want
Keep up the great work Allan 👍
I've been learning things on my own in my free time, and this tutorial is very helpful for me. Also bought other tutorials and presets packs.
