Trance Remixing Tutorial

Video Duration – 1 hour 20 mins

Not sure how to start a remix for a track?

Unsure of each part of the remix pack?

Want some direction for your remixes?

Struggle with changing tempo or key with your remix?

Not sure what to change or do with your remix parts?

Confused by how you can get creative with the parts given to you?

The remix pack doesn’t have barely any elements or parts?

Stop the confusion, start remixing!

Ok so you have a remix pack but you have no idea where to even start? Maybe you have a remix pack that has so many or so little parts?

So you start asking yourself these questions…

What style do I do my remix in?

Do I have to keep it in the same key? If I want to change the key, what is the best way to approach it?

Should I change the tempo? If  I change the tempo, what about the audio files?

Which parts should I use? What can I do with the remix parts to make them mine?

These are just a few of the questions that can be running through your head when it comes to starting a remix and can somewhat be very overwhelming!

So, in this tutorial, I am going to be showing you what I do when I receive a remix pack and how I would go about getting ready for a remix while answering all the confusing questions that I had in my head when I first started.

I’m going to be showing you tips and tricks that will save you time, make your remix process much easier, and allow you to get started asap!

I’ll also be going over each of the remix parts that you may (or may not) receive in your remix packs and going through any other issues that you may come up with when it comes to remix packs.

I’ll be going through my full thought process of how to tackle a remix and going through ways in which you can get creative with your remix to completely change or make it your own while still keeping the essence of the original.

***Please note I do not remix a track in this tutorial due to a remix being very similar to creating any other track in many ways. So, I have decided to concentrate on the issues and struggles that you may have when it comes to remixing. If you wish to see how a track is created from scratch then please check out the full start to finish courses.

Great Tutorial

Really informative tutorial, loads of great pointers and guidance over the use of remix packs, and overcoming/fixing faulty remix packs that are occasionally received as we as correcting coded midi. Have started applying the techniques to a project I am working for a remix contest for Trance Portal and really happy with the progress. Thanks again Allan for taking the time to share a wealth of knowledge around a topic that is difficult to find online! Keep up the great work!!
